Over the past 70 years, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument has helped millions of individuals throughout the world gain awareness about themselves and how they interact with others. The MBTI® instrument enables personal transformation by giving people a powerful tool for improving how they communicate, learn and work.
In developing the MBTI® instrument, Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Briggs, aimed to make Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type understandable and useful in people’s everyday lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in behaviour is actually quite orderly and consistent, owing to basic differences in the ways individuals are oriented toward the external world, take in information and draw conclusions about what they perceive.

Today, the MBTI® instrument is the most widely used personality assessment in the world. More than 2 million assessments are administered to individuals annually - including employees of many Fortune 500 companies. Organisations have selected it as the personality instrument of choice across their training and development programs because it provides a common language for appreciating interpersonal differences.
The MBTI® instrument is what we call ‘Restricted’ and you need to be trained and certified to access and use it. This ensures that the instrument is used for the purpose for which it was designed and that it is being administered and interpreted correctly.
We offer a MBTI® Certification Program that will qualify you in the professional and ethical administration of the MBTI® instrument and upon successful completion of the program, you will gain a certificate of qualification to purchase and use both the instrument and its reports.

Type and the gig economy: A research study from The Myers-Briggs Company
Type and the gig economy: A research study from The Myers-Briggs Company was designed to investigate how personality and other factors relate to the differences between gig and ‘regular’ jobs, the reasons why someone becomes a gig worker, types of gig work done, and views on gig jobs. For gig workers, this information could be very useful in making them aware of their likely strengths and possible blind spots, and in deciding whether gig or other freelance work was right for them. For organizations, this could be the key to managing their gig workers and contractors more efficiently and effectively. The aim of this study was to develop straightforward guidelines that could be used by both.
